What changed

Preseason moved from 2-1 to 3-1 final after the 136-115 win over Miami at Kia Center, and the camp list dropped from 21 to 18 after NBA.com announced three waivers Oct 16. The 45-37 baseline and 115.7 point, 34.3 percent three-point profile did not change. New single-source reporting on injuries from the Orlando Sentinel plus a Sports Illustrated Q&A with head coach Sean Sweeney and Bleacher Report chatter on Black added watch items without an official move, so confidence holds.

Why it matters

0-0 after a 3-1 preseason capped by a 136-115 win over Miami at Kia Center, Orlando takes a 45-37 baseline into the Oct 21 opener against Atlanta. Forwards Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner own the paint, but 34.3 percent from three sets a low ceiling until the backcourt proves it.

What to watch

Track three-point percentage and the center who closes through the first 15 regular-season games, plus official status on Wagner, Richardson and Penda after the Sentinel injury report. Cold shooting against Boston and New York plus missed time for a forward starter would force a harder read.

What would change our mind

A 20-game slide well below .500, a core trade involving Banchero, Wagner or Bane, or sustained league-average three-point shooting paired with wins would demand a new thesis. Anything less is noise.
